Monster Art & Clothing is a local shop dedicated to supporting local artists and sustainable goods. Located in Old Town Ballard, on the corner of Ballard Ave and 20th. Monster Art & Clothing was opened 3 years ago by a local artist Holly Gummelt. After working outdoor markets, festivals and bazaars, Holly met a lot of really amazing local artists working on their own tiny empires of creativity. She decided it was time to get all of their wonderful creations under one roof. Thus, a monster was born. Her idea was to create a space like the markets where the seperation between creator and consumer is as small as possible. In July 2011, Monster was taken over by one of its own artists: Tara Smith of Revival Ink. Tara is dedicated to keeping Monster's vision of featuring local artists alive, and is breathing fresh energy into this endeavor with many new artists, events, and her own creations.
